This is the third Stop the War benefit to be held at St James's Church. John Pilger can't make it this time, but wrote; "All success with this event. The last one was a beauty."
At this benefit performers will contribute a reading / a poem / a song / a piece of music ... that changed their lives in some way or which they return to again and again for whatever reason.
The line-up includes: composer and pianist Michael Nyman, novelist Al Kennedy, journalist Yasmin Alibhai-Brown, Martin Bell, poet Adrian Mitchell, Lancet editor, Dr Richard Horton, Iraqi novelist Haifa Zangana, playwright Timberlake Wertenbaker, composer & pianist Keith Burstein and mezzo soprano Janet Shell, actor Janie Dee, professor Jacqueline Rose, Lindsey German, 'Trigger' from only fools and horses, Roger Lloyd-Pack, The musician Peyotti for President and Iraqi oud player Ahmed Mukhtar who will play songs from 'The Road to Baghdad' amongst other pieces.
Participants have chosen a story, poem, song or piece of music which has changed their life in some way, and which they return to again and again.
