Ahmed Mukhtar the renown worldwide composer and Master of the Solo Oud and Nabeel Yasin, author of the great epic poem 'Brother Yasin', will preform music and poetry''Mutanabbi Street Starts Here''
This event which takes place exactly a year after the bombing of the literary heart of Baghdad will commemorate through poetry and music the role of the area in bringing together Iraqis to cultivate the nation's rich cultural heritage, regardless of ethnic or political division.
On 5th March 2007, a car bomb was detonated in Baghdad's Mutanabbi Street, killing 30 people and injuring over 100. Named after the 10th-century Arabic poet Al-Mutanabbi, this winding thoroughfare filled with bookstores and market stalls had long been the literary heart of the nation's capital, bringing together Iraqis irrespective of religious creed or political affiliation.
