Mukhtar will perform in Italy
The International Festival of Arab Cenima Festival in,Catania Italy , has invited Ahmed Mukhtar to present a concert of Solo Oud in Florence. Ahmed Mukhtar said to the Independent News Agency (Voices of Iraq) "there will be a concert in 22nd of August 2007 to play in the International Festival in Florence.
He added that, I will play new pieces such as (Iraqi jazz) and (Sama’ai Hijaz), in addition to pieces from Iraqi traditions and some of my compositions." He explained that he "chose the (Iraqi jazz), to show the relationship between the music of Oud and the European jazz." He will perform at the "glass hall close to the beach." The Florence International Festival of the cultures of the Mediterranean runs the entire month of August, and will be attended by a large group of musicians and writers in addition to the audience.
